The island of the archipelago is located further to the west. It has semispherical shape, is of volcanic origin, and its name derives from "Ericusa" for the large number of heather present on its territory. The olive and the vine are present on the island as well as capers.
Traces of Roman settlements have been discovered in the eastern part of the island uninhabitable for the terrain.
The highest point on the island is the "Timpone della Montagnola" which touches 675 mt. altitude.
