Don Fortunato Di Noto (Avola, February 18, 1963) is an Italian priest, as well as founder of the Meter and is known for his fight against pedophilia and child protection in Italy and worldwide.
Biography
Don Fortunato Di Noto of Noto enter the diocesan seminary in September 1984. He later studied philosophy and theology at the University "St. Paul" in Catania, then completed his training at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, obtaining a "license" in Church History. On September 3, 1991 he was ordained priest at the Cathedral of Noto.
In 1992 he became professor of church history at the sub-office of Noto the Pontifical University of Santa Croce in Rome. In 1991, a diocesan priest at the shrine of St. Maria Scala del Paradiso - Noto and in 1995 he was appointed parish priest of Our Lady of Mount Caramel in Avola. He also held the post of Treasurer in the Episcopal Seminary of Noto, Director Vicariale of family ministry. He teaches at the School of Specialization in Bioethics and Sexology (St. Thomas Theological Institute) to Messina.
He founded the association Meter, starting with his fight against pedophilia. Activities that made him internationally known. It has promoted several initiatives including the Children's Day in Memory of Victims of Exploitation, Violence and Indifference and the international moratorium against pedophilia.
Don Fortunato would come to the drama of pedophilia since 1996 due to some events that happened in his parish in Avola: including the attempted murder of a 11 year old girl that brought out the abuses he had suffered and the suicide of a fourteen, anche'egli victim of violence.
Has to his credit many articles and essays in national and international journals on the topic of sexual exploitation of minors and child abuse, and is the author of important books, including "The pedophilia. The many faces of a silent holocaust, "published in 2002 by Editions Pauline, Pedophilia in the network, L INNOCENCE BETRAYED, pedophilia: Point on the issue (Salvino Leone ed.) Citta Nuova Editrice, 2006," Body by... game, "published in 2007 by Ediargo. He also wrote essays on the history of the Church, particularly in the local history of the diocese.
Against pedophilia
Starting in 1997 (a pioneer in Italy and abroad), began a constant control, in cooperation with the Police Post on the sexual exploitation of children and the dissemination of child pornography on the Internet. He was among the first to discover the existence of the Front for the Liberation of pedophiles [2], an underground movement founded by a former Roman officer, responsible among others for some episodes of violence occurred in a school in the capital.
He presented two petitions to the European Parliament: one against the admission to the Dutch parliamentary elections of a list in defense of pedophiles, another pedophile pride to counter the Day, an initiative to legalize pedophilia. With the Meter Association has promoted the law 269/98, 38/2006 and many bills, not least in 1305 [8] questioned the Judiciary Committee against the "cultural pedophilia" that incites unlawful conduct against children.
