The sanctuary of San Calogero is a religious building of 1530 which is about 7 km from Sciacca, on monte San Calogero, houses a statue of the Saint by Antonello Gagini, the Saint is depicted with hermit dress, holding the Bible and sideways a DOE.
It was built on an ancient church a destination for sick and pilgrims who came up to the caves to benefit from sulphurous fumes.
In 1953 it became a parish.
In 1979 he became a minor basilica.
