From 09/03/2017 to 07/11/2017 the exhibition dedicated to ancient Egypt will take place in Syracuse from the Egyptian Museum of the Musée Royaux d'Art et d 'Histoire in Brussels:
"The door of priests, the sarcophagi of Deir el-Bahari" at the Montevergini Civic Gallery in Ortigia.
The exhibition features 6 sarcophagi, a mummy, a funeral mask and 139 finds from ancient Egypt to bring the visitor back to ancient Egypt when the priests of the Temple of Amon dominated southern Egypt.
The public will be able to observe and know the main characteristics of sarcophagi, both from the point of view of matter (construction, colors, paints, etc.) and from a conceptual point of view related to survival in the aftermath of the 21st dynasty.
In addition, he will be able to witness live a delicate diagnostic and restoration work of the ancient finds, which will take place inside a mobile glass laboratory. The "Deir el-Bahari's Hideaway" is a large collective tomb uncovered 1891 at 15 feet deep on the western shore of the Nile and preserved the remains of Priests and Priestesses of Amon of the 21st Dynasty (1069-945 BC).
