Lago Olivo is a reservoir of Sicily. Like all reservoirs it is formed as a result of the damming of the River (torrential), between 1984 and 1988 for irrigation, so even today, the Lake retains the appearance that the surrounding valleys and hills they had before being submerged; still waters indeed still show rural houses, mills and dried-up trees whose remains just emerge from the water, but still standing.
The Lake lies between the heights of the Erei, called mountain of March, Monte Rabottano and Monte, Monte Truncheon Polino. The dam has been constructed through a barrage on Earth place perpendicular to the stream at the foot of Mount Olive Nightstick and Monte Polino. Il Lake is as naturalized becoming a destination for several species of animals and resident and migratory birds.
