The Baccarato mine is reached along the SP 16 towards Mirabella Imbaccari and following the signs for Borgo Baccarato situated a few kilometres further ahead of the mining site.
Disused for several years, the mine stretched originally on a total of 250 acres and the start of the sweepstakes seems to date back to 1859.
The memory of mining is now identifiable in some artifacts, some of them with certain historical and architectural significance.
In particular are some ventilation mixed brick stone wells taking almost a semblance of towers. Less interesting configuration of Châtelet, whose spatial articulation and configuring materials denote its roots quite recent.
More difficult to identify from the Street outside the site, primarily for grinding sulphur calcaroni as are embedded in the ground.
Of the four furnaces Gill made between 1951 and 1960 did not remain any trace, also as a result of the work resulting from the changing destinations of the Fund, which is used today as a quarry for extraction of clinker for construction purposes.
