San Marco d'Alunzio (San Marco in Sicilian) is inserted in the circuit of the most beautiful towns in Italy.

Its foundation dates from the fourth century BC and during the period of Greek domination it was a flourishing center called Alontion and minted its own money.
Of particular interest are the ruins of the Norman castle and archaeological finds of various periods (greek, Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Norman, Aragonese), the Museo Municipal San Teodoro and at St. Joseph Parish Museum.
